Training
Personal Protection In The Home
Personal Protection Outside The Home
(Basic and Advanced)
All
classes are in the Columbia, SC, area near major
highways
We
hold our CWP (Concealed Weapons Permit) class and all
our other classes at convenient locations in the greater
Columbia, SC, area within a relatively short drive from
the city center. Each class is in the best location for
that class and we prepare in advance for every student
in that class. We teach relatively small classes
so we can give individual attention to everyone. All
places are reserved in advance on a first-come
first-served basis as we receive applications.
Once you reserve your place in a CWP or other class
we schedule you for an e-mail reminder that includes
detailed driving directions, maps, and helpful
supplementary information for your class. Because our
classes are small, and because we prepare materials
especially for each person in the class, we urge you to
apply as early as possible. We close the class as its
available space is filled. It's important to us to give
individual attention to everyone in the class. We know
your life may depend on what you learn.
As
space permits we accommodate couples, friends, families,
businesses, women's groups, and others who want to
atttend the same class. It's a good idea to make advance
arrangements if that's what you have in mind. We can
lend you one of our own guns by advance arrangement too.
There's no charge to borrow our gun and the holster for
it. Of course if you use our gun you must use the
ammunition we provide and pay us for it before shooting.
We want to make sure that the ammunition used in our
guns is the same ammunition we would use ourselves.

South Carolina CWP, Florida CWP, and NRA Basic Pistol
When
you take our CWP and Basic Pistol class we'll supply the
applications for both South Carolina's and Florida's
Concealed Weapons Permits. We'll help you fill them out
and guide you through the application process for
permits in both
states. You make the decision whether to apply for one
permit, both permits, or neither. We're happy to help
you learn even if you're not interested in a permit or
haven't decided yet. (South Carolina law gives you up to
three years to apply after the date of your training.)
We
hold our South Carolina CWP, Florida CWP, and
NRA Basic Pistol class at least once
each month, almost always on Saturdays. We offer
additional CWP classes in the Columbia, SC, area. Our
schedule keeps growing too fast to make any published
list useful. We prepare the schedule below a year in
advance to give maximum planning time to those who need
it. Please
e-mail us to ask about other classes.

Personal Training
Personal
Training is individual tutoring. We work with you individually,
one-on-one. Individual tutoring of that kind is often
the fastest, most economical way to learn because the
focus is exclusively on you.
We do personal training
sessions with experienced shooters as well as complete
novices. It's an especially good way for competent
shooters to make dramatic improvements quickly on an
individual basis. It's also a great way for novices to
overcome a fear of firearms. We've helped many people
accomplish their goals for many years and we enjoy it.
People
new to handguns or uncertain about shooting often take personal training before enrolling in the CWP
and Basic Pistol class. Other people like to take
personal training to extend the value of a class they've completed.
We've helped people who use shotguns for sport learn how
to use them to defend their homes and for personal
protection too. We also help students learn how to shoot
on the move—and to hit while doing so.
We'll be happy to arrange personal training sessions
with you for mutually-convenient dates and times. We're
usually able to hold them on weekdays as well as some
weekends. By prior arrangement we can lend you a
handgun, rifle, or shotgun. Of course if you use our
firearm you must use the ammunition we provide and pay
us for it before shooting. We want to make sure that the
ammunition used in our guns is the same ammunition we
would use ourselves. Each personal training session is
two hours during one of the following time slots:
For more information or to arrange for personal
training,
e-mail us and include your local telephone
number(s) so we can call to answer your
questions, determine your needs, and arrange
mutually-convenient times.

NRA Personal
Protection In The Home
Personal
Protection In The Home is the class to take after
completing the NRA Basic Pistol class. We schedule each
class when there are qualified people who want to take
it.
The NRA requires you to take the Basic Pistol class
before
Personal Protection In The Home. Our CWP class
includes the NRA Basic Pistol class, which is a real
bonus for our students. They advance immediately from
the basic level. If you have a CWP through another
instructor's class we might be able to validate you for
admission to a PPIH class: contact us.
We hold Personal Protection In The Home
classes throughout the year in the Columbia, SC, area.
If you would like to reserve a place in a Personal
Protection In The Home class,
e-mail us and include your local telephone number(s)
so we can call to answer your questions and determine
your needs.

NRA Personal
Protection Outside The Home
The
two classes that conclude the NRA's Personal Protection
Sequence are Personal Protection Outside The Home
(Basic)
and Personal Protection Outside The Home (Advanced).
The NRA requires you to take those courses in that
order after you have completed Personal Protection
Inside The Home. It's what you would want to do anyway,
even if it weren't required.
We hold Personal Protection Outside The Home
classes--both Basic and Advanced--in the Columbia, SC,
area throughout the year. If you would like to reserve a
place in a Personal Protection Outside The Home
class,
e-mail us and include your local telephone number(s)
so we can call to answer your questions and determine
your needs.
